Aviation leadership tour Minot Air Force Base

By Leon Moore DLA Aviation Public Affairs Office

Senior leadership from Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Customer Operations Directorate accompanied DLA Vice Director Brad Bunn on a site visit to Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, July 17-19. The purpose of the visit was to provide senior DLA leadership a chance to see in-person the weapon systems DLA supports at Minot.

Bunn and the Aviation team, led by Air Force Col. Daniel Willison, director of the Customer Operations Directorate, met with leadership from the Air Force’s 5th Bomb Wing, which supports the B-52H Stratofortress long-range, heavy bomber and 91st Missile Wing, one of the Air Force's three intercontinental ballistic missile wings.

Joining Willison from the Customer Operations Directorate were Melissa Miles, division chief of the Nuclear Enterprise Support Office, Stephen Connor, inter-continental ballistic missile weapons system program manager, Morgan Phillips, ICBM customer account specialist, and Kirk Mott, ICBM customer support manager within Aviation at Ogden’s Material Planning Division.

Daniel Nugent, supply management specialist within DLA Logistics Operations’ Nuclear and Space Enterprise Support Office at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, also attended the site visit.

Willison said these types of visits not only bring awareness to the critical missions DLA supports at Minot, but also expands dialogue and trust between the agency and the warfighter.
