PUGET SOUND, Wash. –
Defense logistics Agency Distribution Puget Sound, Washington, leadership - commander, deputy commander and DDPW’s Bangor site director - visited Naval Station Everett to meet the DDPW Everett team.
In his first official site visit to Everett since taking command of DDPW, DDPW Commander, Navy Cmdr. Marcus Craig, shared his command priorities, and was briefed by the team on key aspects of the Everett operation, gaining an understanding of direct support to local customers to include several surface ships in Everett, the Seattle shipyard and several other customers across the Everett installation to include Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and local Intermediate Maintenance Facility entities.
DDPW leadership also met with the Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound Everett site director for an initial sit down and was given an overview of support services provided by local NAVSUP personnel. This also presented an opportunity to discuss areas for further developing the team effort displayed between FLC and DLA Distribution to provide greater customer support locally.
DDPW and NAVSUP FLC PS leadership then visited the USS Barry for a ship familiarization brief to gain better understanding of surface ship support needed in the Pacific Northwest region. While onboard, DDPW and NAVSUP employees toured the USS Barry to become familiar with its capabilities, gain a better understanding of current challenges and look for possible areas to increase support.
