RICHMOND, Va. –
Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s Security and Emergency Services hosted a Preparedness Expo Sept. 26 in the DLA Aviation Operations Center (Bldg. 46).
National Preparedness Month is observed every September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time.
Representatives from Security and Emergency Services, as well as Emergency Management, Physical Security, Antiterrorism, Family Advocacy, Police, and Fire and Emergency services were on hand at the expo. They shared information on a variety preparedness and response topics, such as natural and man-made disasters, domestic violence prevention, active shooter response, suspicious activity reporting, crime prevention, fire safety and other preparedness related topics.
Julio Clavell, Installation Emergency Manager, said the aim of the expo was bringing awareness to the workforce.
“Events like this expo helps us prepare our employees, not just here at work, but they can take the knowledge and go home and prepare their families and friends”, Clavell said. “It’s a good informational campaign that will only get better over time.”
