NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, leadership hosted a holiday event for their workforce Dec. 11 on Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pennsylvania.
More than 150 DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, employees and their families attended the event that featured appreciation and safety reminders from leadership, food and holiday activities.
Army Lt. Col. Allen Luna, commander, DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, opened the event by expressing his gratitude for the team’s dedication over the past year.
“This gathering was an opportunity to boost morale and espirit de corps within DLA Distribution Tobyhanna,” Luna said. “I wanted to give back to our employees and personally thank them for all of their hard work.”
During the event, Richard Schloendorn Sr., environmental occupational health and safety specialist, DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, provided a safety briefing to the team geared toward the holiday season. Luna emphasized the importance of diligence toward safety during the holidays.
“I want the entire team to enjoy the upcoming holidays and do so safely,” Luna said. “Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that we take care of ourselves and one another.”
Employees enjoyed a meal and activities during the event.
“The event was beautifully done,” said Corren Managan, Information Operations Desktop Support, DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. “The food and decorations were amazing, and I loved the activities available for the kids. I had a great time!”
Brad Kearney, deputy commander, DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, closed out the event by expressing his gratitude to the team.
“It was a joyous occasion and a much-deserved break as employees had a chance to enjoy each other’s company,” Kearney said.
“It’s great to break bread, enjoy each other’s company and interact with people that you don’t always have the opportunity to interact with,” Luna added. “I especially want to thank our volunteers who made this event a possibility.”
