By Alexandria Brimage-Gray DLA Public Affairs

The rest of the world is transforming, and the character of war is changing, the DLA director said during the Defense Logistics Agency Guam Marianas Town Hall Jan. 28.

Simerly highlighted the new DLA Strategic Plan, called “DLA Transforms: A Call to Action,” and how important Guam is for the future safety of the DLA mission and the warfighter.

Simerly explained the people, precision, posture and partnership imperatives of DLA’s transformation. He challenged the agency’s employees to demonstrate trust by treating everyone with dignity and respect; discipline by having the courage to do the right thing; and to maintain a commitment to team success and support to the warfighter always.

As DLA looks to solve contested logistics challenges and transform as an agency in response to changing warfighter needs and priorities, the agency will have to think, act and operate differently, Simerly stated.

Air Force Command Chief Master Sergeant Alvin Dyer, DLA’s senior enlisted leader, shared that this is a transformative era for DLA and DDGM is on the cutting edge.

“DLA HQ is here to support in all ways, including our culture and relationships built here,” he said.
