Casarez named next DLA senior enlisted leader

Army Sgt. Maj. Petra Casarez will be the Defense Logistics Agency’s next senior enlisted leader.

She will replace Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Alvin R. Dyer this September. He came to DLA in August 2023.

Casarez brings an impressive background and wealth of leadership experience to her upcoming service with DLA, DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Mark Simerly said in a statement to agency leadership.

Casarez is currently serving as the sergeant major for the Department of the Army G4 Headquarters in Washington, D.C. She is the senior enlisted advisor to their deputy chief of staff, serving as the principal logistics staff advisor to Army senior leaders in the development of sound policy and advancement of sustainment modernization objectives.

Her prior assignments include G4 sergeant major for the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Red Cloud, South Korea; battalion command sergeant major for the Headquarters Battalion of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia; command sergeant major for the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade at Camp Henry, South Korea; G3 sergeant major for U.S. Army Materiel Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Ordnance command sergeant major for the U.S. Army Ordnance School with U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command at Fort Lee, Virginia; and command sergeant major for U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command with U.S. Army Materiel Command at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.
