Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support held a ceremony honoring the federal service of three civilian retirees on Aug. 28.

Tremayne Jackson, Sherry Adedokun and Edward Dermody retired from Troop Support with a combined total of 184 years of service.

Adedokun retired from the Clothing & Textiles supply chain with 41 years of service. Dermody retired from the Medical supply chain with 18 years of service. Jackson retired from the Construction and Equipment supply chain after 44 years of service.

DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Sean P. Kelly led the ceremony and expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices made throughout the retirees’ careers on behalf of the warfighter.

“I am sure Tremayne, Sherry and Edward could all tell a story or two about some sacrifices made during their journey,” Kelly said, “each retiree here represents the commitment and dedication we foster and celebrate here at DLA Troop Support.”

In her retirement remarks, Jackson expressed gratitude to the organization for the personal and professional developments she accomplished throughout her Troop Support career.

“I have been shaped by my time [at Troop Support],” Jackson said, “I have learned strategic skills that helped me grow. These skills matured me as an individual to be able to help guide my family and loved ones in their lives. It’s an honor to be able to shape their lives. I am so grateful for [these opportunities] because it made me become the person I am today.”

Jackson also expressed how meaningful it is to hear about the impact of Troop Support’s work from warfighters returning from their missions.

“[When our warfighter] men and women, boys and girls, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers go abroad, and comeback to tell me their stories, [I learn] how valuable we here [at Troop Support] are to help the military [meet its mission].”

Kelly expressed the importance of the legacy each retiree leaves behind through their dedication to warfighter support.

“I have no doubt that your colleagues know the impact you have made on your teams,” he said. “Take comfort in the fact that your legacy of unwavering support to the Warfighter will carry on.”
