Warner Robins D2 team wins Team of the Quarter

By DLA Distribution Public Affairs DLA Distribution Public Affairs

The DLA Distribution Warner Robins, Ga., Distribution and Disposition, or D2, team has been named Team of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2015.

The D2 Team is assigned to the distribution center’s Special Assets Division and consists of members Willie Anderson, Dawn Hardwick, Marc Harris, Debra Finnegan, John Fredenburg, Narrio Gibbs, Eric Melton, Gregory Miller, Keble Passley, Sammie Sanders, Byron Spencer, Wayne Taylor, Gary Tisdale, Brian Williams, and Cassie Voshell.

According to supervisor Bobby Small, during the quarter the team performed in an outstanding manner and achieved unprecedented success.  “They set the standard by which excellence is measured.  They are methodical and extremely conscientious and it shows in their daily quality of work.  Their untiring effort led to outstanding results.”

One of those results was the timely completion of increased incoming receipts.  Together, the team ensured the on-time processing of nearly 31,000 receipts and offload of approximately 600 commercial and local trucks.

Additionally, the team consistently came together while picking and making ready for shipment approximately 700 material release orders for customers in a five-state region, said Small.  “Their reputation for being dependable and producing timely work ensured no delays when customers picked up their material.  This team was instrumental in the successful loading of 18 commercial trucks with approximately 48 pallets each, transporting unserviceable materiel for disposal.”

The team also assisted the Marine Corps with a Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle project.  Approximately 2,600 line items representing over 229,300 individual pieces on 40 commercial truckloads were processed over a two-week period and allowed the Marine Corps to meet its contractor facility closure date.

“The D2 functional area team’s performance represents the organized, efficient and bold way they attack the day-to-day mission.  They are self-starters with great personal initiative and leadership skills.  Their superior performance and exceptional customer service exceeded customer expectations and reflects positively on DLA Distribution and the Defense Logistics Agency,” said Small.
