Susquehanna’s Davis awarded Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter

Army Sgt. 1st Class Bradrick Davis, transportation non-commissioned officer in charge at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been awarded the Distribution Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter for fourth quarter, fiscal year 2015 for his performance, outstanding professional skill, knowledge and leadership.

“Sgt. 1st Class Davis has repeatedly demonstrated those qualities that make the NCO the backbone of our professional military: integrity, commitment and selfless service,” said Michelle McClure, deputy Transportation Division.

In his role as the Senior Transportation NCO, he serves as multi-functional logistician responsible for the operational control and movement of material throughout DLA Distribution Susquehanna to customers worldwide. 

Daily, as NCOIC of the distribution center’s Emergency Supply Operations Center, Davis coordinates a wide range of specialized, high-priority shipments, to include oversized heavy haul, hazardous, and customer pickups through the supply and transportation system.

According to McClure, Davis is a motivated logistics expert, regularly using his knowledge and experiences gained in the field to enhance service to customers, both in terms of delivery and cost.  “He expertly runs day-to-day operations, coaching his team in best practices and solving problems with imitative and skill,” she said.

Davis is a go-to for knowledge on the organization’s warehousing system, Distribution Standard System, and general shipment troubleshooting for warehouse personnel, other transportation professionals and his leadership. 

“His performance has been essential in accomplishing DLA Distribution Susquehanna’s mission to serve DLA’s vast customer base,” said McClure.  Ensuring the successful shipment of nearly 6,000 ESOC Materiel Release Orders over the past year, he was also responsible for ensuring employees performed causative research and followed DLA Distribution headquarters policy to resolve over 6,000 open MROs and 3,459 customer Supply Discrepancy Reports.

In his personal time, he instills positive mentorship, devoting approximately 48 hours to a local after school program, aiding in deterring negative peer influences among children.

“His noteworthy achievements as a military member and involved community citizen reflect great credit upon DLA Distribution Susquehanna and DLA,” said McClure.
