Magalli Odom, supply technician at DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, has been named DLA Distribution’s Employee of the Quarter for first quarter, fiscal year 2016, for her performance and significant support to the customer.

According to supervisor Blessings Foster, Odom distinguished herself with her dedication to the inventory mission and her superior performance as the denial coordinator.

“Ms. Odom is a self-starter, never deterred by the complexity or magnitude of the task at hand and can be relied upon to see that work is completed expeditiously and efficiently.  She has the ability to anticipate problem areas or external factors which impact inventory accuracy and plan ahead,” said Foster.

Designated as Inventory Integrity denial coordinator, Odom was responsible for researching more than 600 potential denials, ultimately counting over 200 locations and verifying more than 21,500 assets.  She ensured that inventory locations and owner balances were accurate, which in turn ensured assets were ready for the customer without delay.

Foster says that Odom’s attention to detail and superior work ethic resulted in DLA Distribution Corpus Christi maintaining a denial rating of .28 percent during first quarter FY2016.  During this period, she contributed to a cost avoidance of more than $75 million dollars in valid Material Release Orders, ensuring material was picked and ready for shipping with zero discrepancies.

Odom also contributed to the overall Inventory Integrity mission by researching nine Inventory Adjustment Vouchers in which she single-handedly counted 135 locations with over 900 pieces, resulting in a cost savings of approximately $202,000.

“When assigned any task, Ms. Odom displays tenacity and pride in her work. She is a consistent high performer in both quality and quantity when performing her duties, always seeking perfection,” said Foster.
