NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania –
Ryan Miller, a materials examiner and identifier in the Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking division of DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the week for the week of July 4 to 8.
Miller was the driving force behind the PPP&M push after receiving authorization via 131 dispositions instructions for items that were critical to fill Army shortages. These assets were critical to Army Readiness. Going outside his normal scope of duties, he took action to perform the PPP&M, in order to make the resources available.
Not only was he able to provide the assets to the men and women in the field, but Miller was able to identify an issue with the packaging so future shipments are not held up. This type of communication, with both internal and external customers, is key to stock readiness.
“Because of Ryan’s quick response the assets are now on their way to the warfighter,” said Army Col. Corey New, commander of DLA Distribution Susquehanna. “He demonstrated the selflessness and professionalism we strive to embody on a daily basis.“
