Crimson R. Smith has been selected as deputy commander of DLA Distribution Europe in Germersheim, Germany.

Previously, Smith was assigned to DLA Distribution headquarters as the Material Movement Division Chief, a position she held for approximately three years.

She began her federal civilian career March 2004 as a Department of the Army intern with the Communications Security Logistics Agency out of Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., performing as a communications electronics command item manager.

Upon completion of the intern program, she accepted a position within DLA, joining the DLA Distribution Kuwait Southwest Asia Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point operation as a general supply Specialist.  She was promoted to deputy of the TCSP operation in June 2008.

In December 2008, the TCSP operation and DLA Distribution Kuwait, Southwest Asia, consolidated and she was assigned as the chief of operations and later served as deputy commander of DLA Distribution Kuwait from September 2010 until its closure in December 2012.

Smith graduated from Central Texas College in Killen, Texas, in December 1992 with an Associate of Arts in General Studies.  She continued her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona in Tucson where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in May 1997.  While employed with United Parcel Service, she attended University of Phoenix, Las Vegas Campus, and in February 2004 received her Master of Arts in Educational Counseling.
