Employee Spotlight: Lisa R. Hosecloth
Organization: Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Warner Robins, Georgia

What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically? I’m a customer support manager responsible for enhancing supply supportability to C-130 aircraft programmed depot maintenance workload at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia by reviewing operational and strategic workload requirements. I also work closely with sustainment specialists and Air Force personnel in identifying potential supportability gaps between Defense Logistics Agency’s support plan and aircraft projected repair requirements. My team is dedicated to mitigating any critical parts supportability issues through the leveraging of DLA capabilities.
What do you like most about your job? The variability encountered with conducting planning and support for C-130 aircraft depot repair requirements. The broad range of C-130 aircraft configurations within the fleet along with its various special mission requirements and modifications, including special operations forces, always presents new challenges and opportunities when executing supportability for critical DLA parts requirements.
What would you say has been your major contributions to your organization this year in your job? I recently returned from a 16-month deployment in Afghanistan, so I would have to say being able to represent DLA and support the warfighter in a combat environment was definitely my biggest contribution. Being able to see firsthand how important our role as a supplier is to mission success was definitely a life-changing experience. My tour was not only challenging and rewarding, but it has also given me a renewed sense of service and dedication to doing everything I can to support the warfighter.
What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction? Seeing my efforts to provide maximum parts supportability result in a positive impact to overall mission readiness. I also could never achieve the satisfaction of “getting the job done” if it weren’t for my awesome co-workers. After almost 34 years in the workforce I can honestly say they are truly some of the best, brightest, and funniest people I have ever worked alongside, especially my boss who supports and motivates me to give my best even under adverse circumstances.
What was your first job? While in high school, I worked part time as a file clerk in the personnel office at the now closed McClellan Air Force Base, California. I filed individual personnel documents into the appropriate employee’s personnel folder. All these folders were stored in a gigantic file cabinet carousel called an “Electriever.” Yes, that’s all I did, and yes, it was boring as heck!
What advice would you have given yourself 10 years ago? I would say “self, don’t worry about things you don’t have control over.” I would also remind myself to “stay focused on being present in the moment and enjoy the simple things in life because those are the experiences and relationships that will be the most rewarding and long lasting.”
Where do you see yourself five years from now? Retired from DLA, traveling abroad with the love of my life, my husband, and enjoying my family and close friends. I would also like to become actively involved in some sort of non-profit organization within my local community.
Do you have an unfulfilled wish? Yes, I wish I had learned how to swim. Okay, stop laughing, I’m serious.
Who is the most influential person in your life...past or present? My dad. When I was 13, my mom passed away suddenly, thrusting my dad into the single parent role during a time when it wasn't very common for a man to raise two girls on his own. During what I consider to be the most pivotal years in my life, I watched my dad take on the role of being mother and father to two impressionable teenage girls. I credit him with teaching me the value of hard work and what it means to be a strong, independent, driven, honest, and caring person. He also taught me how to make sacrifices for the ones you love, and encouraged me to go after whatever goal I set for myself. Even today at 85, my dad is still my biggest cheerleader and inspiration for living life to the fullest and being the best version of "me" I can be.
Who is your favorite actor or actress and why? Angela Bassett is definitely my favorite actress because, besides being an extremely talented actress, she represents the epitome of what it is to be a “beautiful” person inside and out, regardless of your age.
