Richmond, Va –
On a sunny, but cool late March afternoon, Theresa Wolfe’s face beamed as she basked in the warmth of the sun’s rays provided through the windows of her first floor office in the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Operations Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. It was one of the rare moments of down time she’s been able to take since taking over as the head of Human resources for DLA Aviation less than two months ago.
While new to the Aviation family, Wolfe is no stranger to DLA. Before making her way to Richmond, the Wichita, Kansas, native spent the last close to seven years at DLA Headquarters, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, starting out as the labor and employee relations specialist working in the policy directorate and later as a LR/ER program manager. In her role as the program manager, she provided advice and guidance to human resources practitioners and collaborated with general counsel on matters impacting LR/ER agency-wide at the operational level.
Prior to arriving at DLA, Wolfe worked at Marine Corps Headquarters, Quantico, Virginia. Before this, she worked as a labor relations specialist for the Defense Commissary Agency, Fort Lee, Virginia.
Wolfe served 26 years in the Virginia Air National Guard, retiring in the rank of senior master sergeant in 2015. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree in human resource management.
Wolfe believes her more than 15 years of experience in the Human Resources field and her close to 30 years of military service has prepared her for the task ahead.
“I want people to feel comfortable knowing I will do my best to give them the right guidance and advice, while at the same time being mindful that the ultimate mission is supporting the warfighter,” she said.
