Are you interested in reviewing or updating your reference number data in the Federal Cataloging System (FCS)? The reference number (REF NUM) consists of a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code and Part Number. The iGIRDER program was introduced to allow authorized individuals the ability to review and submit for corrections REF NUMs using a web-based application that serves as both a maintenance tool and information source for U.S. manufacturers and distributors on U.S. CAGE codes only. Non-U.S. CAGE Code users should obtain a subscription to the NATO Master Catalogue of References for Logistics (NMCRL) which will allow the company to request actions as a "Private User" on reference numbers bearing their company's NCAGE code. More information on NMCRL, it's capabilities and obtaining a subscription can be found on the NMCRL page:

“iGIRDER allows industry to purify data in the Federal Cataloging System”

iGIRDER – What’s in it for me?

  • It Gives You Control – Allows for data accuracy of reference numbers by providing a mechanism to review reference numbers and propose changes to obsolete, incomplete or inaccurate data.
  • Its’s Good for Business - Serves as a real time link between the Department of Defense (DOD) and private industry which results in an uninterrupted flow of items required to support DOD global logistic requirements and ensures visiblity for procurement.

  • It’s a Time-Saver - Data extracts can be requested listing reference numbers that can be updated as well as using the data directly on the web application to submit updates consistently, securely and at no cost.

A CAGE code is a five-character alpha-numeric identifier assigned to entities located in the United States and respective territories. The CAGE Program Office is the only activity authorized for assignment or update of CAGE codes. CAGE Codes support a variety of procurement and acquisition processes throughout the United States Government. For additional information, please visit the CAGE website: https://cage.dla.mil/Home/UsageAgree.

When reviewing your extract please refer to the list of ACTREQ (GIRDER Codes). If you are not sure how to interpret a code for an item, please contact us first. To ensure prompt processing of your updates, please e-mail your completed extract along with any questions/comments to iGIRDER@dla.mil.
