Implementation Conventions

Data Exchange Specifications (DLMS X12, DLMS XML, DLSS)

Search Implementation Conventions

A DLMS Implementation Convention (IC) is a DoD defined data exchange format for the transfer of supply specific information.

Several version 4010 X12 ICs have evolved to 4030 and have been removed. If you require documentation for those versions, please reach out to DEDSO.

New systems should not use the 842S/Q and 842S/R. These transactions will be sunset after implementation of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

REMINDER:  While the DLMS XML schema is based off the DLMS X12 ICs there is a known disconnect that impacts the DLMS XML.  The DLMS XML schemas are limited in capability--they cannot and do not include conditional syntax logic--the if/when/then of a transaction.  Programmers must review the DLMS X12 ICs to determine if additional program logic is needed on top of the DLMS XML schema.  Failure to do so will result in errors and delays in processing.  If you have additional questions, please contact DEDSO for assistance!
