Receipt in Place

How do I turn-in on site?

Regulations

The ability to receive property in place is a beneficial tool frequently utilized by DLA Disposition Services field sites to save time, transportation costs and man-hours. A receipt in place turn-in occurs when a customer and an Area Manager agree it is in the best interests of both parties to receive the property at the customer’s location. This often occurs for property that is too large, numerous, or impossible for DLA to assume custody of.

As property is received in place, DLA puts the item on record during the reutilization process. However it remains in the physical custody of the customer throughout the entire RTD screening cycle.

Receipt in place is authorized by discretion of the Field Site Area Manager and requires a signed memorandum of understanding. To discuss receipt in place options, please contact your local Disposal Service Representative (DSR).
