DLA Energy hosts its annual Joint Petroleum Week
The Defense Logistics Agency Energy hosted the annual Joint Petroleum Week from Feb. 23-27, 2026, bringing together hundreds of military fuel experts from across the Department of War. The week began with two days of classified briefings, followed by the Joint Petroleum Seminar, and concluded with two classified governance meetings. In his seminar opening remarks, DLA Energy Commander Navy Rear Adm. George Bresnihan called the joint petroleum community the most critical and mature enterprise in joint logistics. He highlighted DLA's focus on setting the globe, the agency, and its supply chains for future challenges by building resilience and leveraging data and AI for a "decision advantage." While praising the talent of the assembled professionals as "the best in the business," he also noted the significant challenges facing the enterprise, including theater posture, distribution tanker shortfalls, and aging infrastructure.
