DSCC Installation CPR and AED Training Program
Associates at the Defense Supply Center Columbus participate in a free adult specific cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator training. Once trained, associates may volunteer to be part of the First Response Team members to assist employees at the worksite in an emergency situation in the areas they are trained until the response team arrives.
May 28, 2019 - The training and existence of voluntary First Response Team members lessens the impact of sudden cardiac arrest by supporting employee and worksite preparedness and response and optimizing a person’s chance for survival. Team members are volunteers, who are currently certified. Responsibilities include providing CPR, the use of an AED or Heimlich Maneuver for choking in an emergency situation to associates who are in need of assistance until emergency personnel arrive. Associates can register for a class by calling the Building 21 Health Clinic at 614-701-5104.
