First quarter employees of the quarter

Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy Canlas announced Energy’s first quarter, fiscal year 2021 military and civilian employees of the quarter.

“Please help me in congratulating these awesome teammates for their amazing accomplishments,” Canlas said in an email to the workforce. “We all know that no one succeeds alone, so I offer my personal thanks to everyone who was part of the larger team that continues to make us successful day-in and day-out.”

DLA Energy military winners are:
Air Force Maj. Charles Morton, DLA Energy Americas East deputy director for mission support, won the field grade officer category
Navy Lt. Duy Do, DLA Energy Europe & Africa operations officer, won the company grade officer category
Air Force Master Sgt. Robert Head, DLA Energy Europe & Africa quality assurance representative at Rota, Spain, won the senior NCO category
Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas McCall, DLA Energy Europe & Africa senior petroleum laboratory technician, won the junior NCO category

DLA Energy civilian winners are: 
Travis Blackman, DLA Energy South-West Pacific quality assurance representative in the Singapore office, won the GS/WG/WL 7-12 category  
Gregory Carrow, DLA Energy Customer Operations customer account specialist, won the GS13-15/WS category

DLA Director's Strategic Goals Award nomination:
DLA Energy Americas West won the Small Team Category. Team members are Daniel Schmidt, Timothy Hutson, and Rick Albert. The team earned the award for their work during Exercise Clear Path VIII in November 2020. Clear Path is the U.S. Department of Energy annual all-hazards energy security and resilience exercise where energy sector’s response and restoration are tested following a catastrophic incident.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce Maj. Morton won the DLA-level Field Grade Officer category for the 1st Quarter for 2021,” Canlas said. “The DLA-level civilian and strategic goals winners have not yet been announced.”
