FEMA contingency fuel contract activated, resources in place

Within 18 hours of Federal Emergency Management Agency’s request for fuel support, Defense Logistics Agency Energy activated the contingency fuels contract and pre-positioned resources at Incident Support Base Fort Hood, Texas, to support Hurricane Laura response efforts Aug. 27.

DLA Energy fuels Mars rocket launch

Carrying equipment destined for Mars, a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket fueled by DLA Energy blasted off from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, July 30. The rocket carried the $2.7 billion NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance rover in to space on a 300-million-mile voyage.

Airmen, Soldiers practice emergency response during DLA fuel spill prevention, response training

To better prepare for emergencies, members of the 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 509th Civil Engineer Squadron and the U.S. Army’s 1-135th Assault Helicopter Battalion participated in a DLA Energy fuel spill exercise, July 21-22.
