Oklahoma City Conducts Mobile Logistics Demonstration with T-AKE

APRA HARBOR, Guam — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet website — USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723) conducted a mobile logistics demonstration with the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE-14) in Apra Harbor, Guam March 11 in the first of many evolutions designed to evaluate supply ships’ ability to sustain submarine operations in an expeditionary setting.

U.S. FIFTH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec. 22, 2017) – Marines and Sailors with USS San Diego and embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit pass boxes during a replenishment at sea. San Diego, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.

AT SEA -- The USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) refuels and receives supplies during a replenishment at sea in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 12, 2016. During replenishments at sea, Navy MH-60S Seahawk helicopters ferry food and supplies from Navy supply ships to the ships of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed Marine Air-Ground Task Force, and combines air-ground-logistics into a single team capable of addressing a range of military operations in the Asia-Pacific region – from force protection and maritime security to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in cooperation with host countries and partner militaries.
