Innovative teambuilding keeps coworkers together

DLA support to nursing homes: A ‘challenging, humbling’ success

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency overcame hurdles to support the nation’s demand for personal protective equipment for at-risk populations early in the coronavirus pandemic. As one of the U.S.’s most susceptible populations, the elderly became a primary focus of DLA Troop Support’s Construction and Equipment supply chain when the Department of Health and Human Service requested two tranches of pre-packaged lifesaving protective items for 15,455 nursing homes nationwide.

Wear denim on Fridays during November

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support workforce is encouraged to wear denim on Fridays this November as part of the final installment of DLA’s “Not Just April” sexual assault awareness campaign. Employees are asked to wear denim, from jeans to jackets, or hats, to show their support of the DLA Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program.

DLA Troop Support bids farewell to civilian retirees

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support bid farewell to two civilian retirees during a ceremony Oct. 29 in Philadelphia. Robert Hutkowski of Construction and Equipment retired after 36 years of federal service, and Pauline Clark-Cox of the Equal Employment Opportunity Office retired after 35 years of service.

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Clothing and Textiles Director Air Force Col. Justin Swartzmiller was promoted from lieutenant colonel during a socially distanced ceremony at the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia Oct. 28.

DLA Medical ECAT provides $1 billion in life saving material, savings to customers

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Medical supply chain’s Electronic Catalog sales hit $1 billion in life saving material sales and savings to customers for the first time in the “best in class” program’s history.

DLA Troop Support’s Clothing and Textiles supply chain provided about 10,000 sets of improved hot-weather combat uniform, or IHWCU, coats and trousers to recruit training centers across the country by Oct. 21, 2020.

DLA provides lighter hot-weather uniform to Army recruits

PHILADELPHIA — Army recruits will have the option of wearing a lighter hot-weather uniform as they receive their initial issue bags thanks to Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support.
