New forging dies and organic manufacturing improve aircraft wing spar support

In 2014, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, and the F-15 Eagle System Program Office identified a critical requirement for the F-15 C/D model aircraft wing spars. The spars, a critical structural component within the aircraft’s wing, were showing stress cracks.

Air Logistics Complex commander thanks DLA for contributions to Air Force award

“The Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex wouldn't have been successful without your teamwork and your willingness to fight by our sides.” Those are sentiments expressed by United States Air Force Brig. Gen. Walter Lindsley, WR-ALC commander, to all Defense Logistics Agency tenants co-located with the WR-ALC at Robins Air Force Base. The WR-ALC was named Category 4 Depot winner of the Air Force Materiel Command’s 2015 Maintenance Effectiveness Award.
