Director of DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Retires with 50 Years of Service

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — With 50 years of service to the federal government, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Director Ned LaViolette, Jr. retires Sept. 25. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, LaViolette’s career spans the globe, from Asia and Central America, to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

USAF begins new Egyptian F110 upgrade program

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Oklahoma — A big step forward to modernize the Egyptian Air Force F-16 “Fighting Falcon” fleet will take place July 25th in San Antonio, Texas. United States Air Force contracting, through Defense Logistics Agency-Aviation’s Strategic Acquisition Program, has awarded an Egyptian long-term F110 propulsion sustainment contract to GE Aviation. The ceremony will recognize the enterprise collaboration with a focus on Egyptian F-16 mission readiness.

Oklahoma City DLA Strategic Material pilot program partnership proves successful

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Approximately two years ago, DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, located at Tinker Air Force Base, joined forces with DLA Disposition Services to take on a new mission. The mission assisting DLA Strategic Materials in sorting, recovering and reclaiming rare materials critical to national defense and national security for reuse in military applications, and enables the United States to not rely on other countries to replace the materials that have been identified as a shortfall’s within the National Defense Stock Piling Act.
