DLA Distribution Commanding General delivers Veterans Day remarks

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — The theme for Veterans Day 2021, “Honoring All Who Served,” is centered on the centennial commemoration of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was dedicated on Armistice Day, November 11, 1921, with the burial of an unknown World War I service member. In the aftermath of WWII and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

DLA Aviation employees recognized for outstanding warfighter support in August

RICHMOND, Va — Richard Armstrong and Tyrone Paige were selected as Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Employees of the Month for August. Armstrong won in the general schedule (GS) 10-13 category. Paige took the award in the GS 1-9 category.

DLA Energy fuel handlers inducted into the Fraternal Order of the SPR

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Recognized for their safety, professionalism and reliability in the petroleum field, Mike Holgate, Doug Collins, and Rick Vanschoor were inducted into the “Order of the SPR” at the National Petroleum Management Association PETRO 21 Conference in Alexandria, Virginia, Nov. 3.

BATTLE CREEK, Michigan — This year’s Veterans Day Program is virtual and features keynote speaker Zaneta Adams, director of Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. Both a veteran and military spouse, Adams has dedicated her work to assisting Michigan’s 567,000 veterans.

Most of these items are within the norms of end-of-lifecycle logistics, however, some examples of property turned-in stand out among the rest and serve to highlight the unique capabilities of disposal logisticians.

DLA Energy receive quarterly command update

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — From across the globe, more than 615 DLA Energy employees participated in a virtual All Hands held from the Fort Belvoir McNamara Headquarters Complex auditorium Nov. 2. The workforce was updated on the DLA Energy 2021 Culture Action Plan, recent employee awards and recognition, and the COVID-19 vaccination documentation system.
