Mission

Mission Statement

To act as the principal advisor and assistant to the Director, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and agency leadership, on all matters relating to small business, and to maximize the contributions of small business in DLA acquisitions.  We provide small business advocacy and promote small business utilization to strengthen the competency, commitment, and capability of the industrial base that fulfills DLA’s mission as America‘s Combat Logistics Support Agency.  We provide staff support to the DoD member of the Committee for Purchase from People Who are Blind or Severely Disabled (Committee) under the Javits-Wagner-O’Day (JWOD) Act, known as the AbilityOne Program.  In addition, DB is delegated cooperative agreement authority to carry out the Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA) Program (10 U.S.C. Chapter 142).
