Command Sgt. Maj., U.S. Army, Senior Enlisted Leader
Army Command Sgt. Maj. Sultan A. Muhammad became the Senior Enlisted Leader of the Defense Logistics Agency in September 2012.
He is a native of Baltimore. He graduated from Forrest Park High School and received his associate degree in general studies from Central Texas College, his bachelor’s degree in science from Excelsior College, and Master of Science in health science emergency and disaster relief from TUI University. CSM Muhammad attended basic training at Fort Dix, N.J., and advanced individual training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
CSM Muhammad has served in a variety of positions. He most recently served as the 10th Regimental Command Sergeant Major of the Ordnance Corps, located at Fort Lee, Va. His other assignments include: Fort Bragg, N.C., Garrison Command Sergeant Major; Sustainment Brigade/Group Command Sergeant Major; Logistics Task Force/Battalion Command Sergeant Major; Operations Sergeant Major; Maintenance Control Supervisor; Group Motor Sergeant; Section Sergeant; Armament Control Sergeant; Army Excellence in Maintenance Inspector for 8th United States Army and 19th Theater Support Command; First Sergeant; Senior Drill Sergeant; and Platoon Sergeant.
CSM Muhammad’s military education includes: Air Assault School, Airborne School, Equal Opportunity Course, Unit Armor Course, NBC Course, Drill Sergeant School (Commandant’s List), Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (Exceeded Course Standards), Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, U.S. Army Sergeant Major Academy (Class 54), Garrison Command Sergeant Major Course, Army Command Sergeant Major Force Management Course, Joint Logistic Course, Garrison Sergeant Major Course, and Force Moderation Course .

CSM Muhammad is also an honorary member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Order of Samuel Sharpe (Ordnance Corp), Order of Saint Martin (Quartermaster Corp), Order of Saint Christopher (Transportation Corps), the Combined Arms Command Summerville Medal, and Demonstrated Master Logistician by the International Society of Logistics.
CSM Muhammad’s deployments include: Hurricane Mitch support, Operation Enduring Freedom III, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
