PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles embroiders see the only 49-star presidential flag made during a visit from presidential flag collectors in late June in Philadelphia. DLA embroiders are the sole authorized producers of the current 50-star presidential and vice presidential flags.

Although the official “birth” of DLA may stem from the Oct. 1, 1961 creation of the Defense Supply Agency, DLA Troop Support ties its origins to the acquisition of the Schuylkill Arsenal in 1799.
