SERVICE TEAMS
SIDE-BY-SIDE SUPPORT
March - April 2014

A Team Effort
Keeping DLA’s customers supported is the goal of the Military Service Support Division, where teams of service members and civilians work directly with customers to resolve issues and expedite orders.

Balancing Act
Balancing ongoing service requirements while supporting the large retrograde mission as U.S. withdraws forces from Afghanistan keeps DLA Logistics Operations busy in its support to the Army.

Semper Support
A close connection with Marine Corps customers helps the Marine Corps service team anticipate logistics requirements and potential problems, while fostering positive solutions on issues like hazardous materials management and inventory reduction.

Supporting the Fleet
Through initiatives like Inventory Management and Stock Positioning and performance-based logistics, the Navy National Account Manager Team ensures the Navy has the supplies and support it needs.

Air Force Support
Close collaboration with customers and a focus on key issues like improving retail support and forward stocking in the Pacific have helped DLA’s Air Force team improve customer satisfaction.

Beyond the Military Services
In addition to supporting military customers, DLA also supports several federal agencies through interagency agreements, partnerships and joint initiatives.

Chemical Management Services
A DLA effort to consolidate hazardous materials management and save money has caught the attention of the Marines and the Coast Guard.

The Inspector General
Establishing trust with agency employees while conducting fair, efficient investigations are the top priorities for DLA’s inspector general, whose office conducts routine audits and criminal investigations.
