Civil engineers team up to repair runway

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing website — Three career fields from the 455th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron worked together to repair a strip of runway Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2017 at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

DLA serves Super Bowl fare to service members overseas

PHILADELPHIA — As millions of Americans munch on game-day fare while watching the Super Bowl this Sunday, so will service members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, thanks to DLA Troop Support.

Transcending the Spoken Word

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — An increasing number of the DLA population uses American Sign Language to communicate. Now, the agency is providing ways to educate employees in ASL.

The building, designed by Clark Nexsen, features extensive use of natural lighting. Other environmentally friendly features include energy efficient lighting and equipment with motion and occupancy sensors, rainwater harvesting, extensive use of recycled and local materials, green roofs, photovoltaic panels on the roof, maximized solar orientation, and increased levels of insulation.
