Troop Support honors three July retirees with 89 years of combined service

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s senior leadership gathered to honor three civilian retirees in a joint ceremony July28. With a total of 89 years of combined service, the retirees all left a permanent mark on DLA Troop Support’s workforce through their dedication to the warfighter, the officiant said.

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Two DLA service members received Purple Heart medals during a ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex July 29. Army Lt. Col. Arturo Lincon and Army Master Sgt. Shawnar Thomas received recognition for injuries sustained in support of the U.S. Central Command mission during a rapid aerial attack March 1.

Closing a historic chapter: DLA Land and Maritime prepares to officially case its unit colors

COLUMBUS, Ohio — On July 24, the Defense Logistics Agency will close a historic chapter and forge a unified future as it officially deactivates DLA Land and Maritime, based at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. This deactivation, held in conjunction with the deactivation of DLA Aviation in Richmond, Virginia, the day prior, marks the formal stand-up of DLA Weapons Support – a new, integrated major subordinate command headquartered in Columbus.
