New training program fights against suicide
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — To increase suicide prevention awareness, Battle Creek Morale, Welfare and Recreation Family Program Manager and Licensed Master Social Worker Lisa Grenon invited Scott Teichmer, a member of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Calhoun County and Question, Persuade, Refer Institute master trainer, to the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services’ most recent Leadership Summit for a new type of training.

HDIFC employees spread holiday cheer for 36 years
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — For 36 years, Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center employees have partnered with the local Salvation Army to sponsor families through their Adopt-a-Family program. The program supports families who have experienced a financial, emotional or physical crisis and pairs them with a sponsor who will gift them items like new clothing, toys, household supplies, and food.

Federal Center employees deliver Christmas at Salvation Army
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — At the end of each year Defense Logistics Agency employees at the Hart Dole Inouye Federal Center in Battle Creek, Michigan, work together to make the holidays a little brighter for families in need. Working with the local Salvation Army, DLA Installation Support’s Battle Creek Morale, Welfare and Recreation staff coordinate the Federal Center’s Adopt-A-Family Program. The program includes veterans that are patents at the local Veteran Affairs hospital and other families in the community.
