Surplus property donations add to DOD hurricane response contributions

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Donations of no-cost used equipment like diesel generators and trailers from used military stock helps regional and local officials accelerate disaster response efforts.

Two former military trucks, issued by DLA Disposition Services through the 1033 program to Texas law enforcement, depart the Texas Federal State Property San Antonio Office as the sun sets. The next morning the trucks were operating on the east side of Houston rescuing people from flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.
