Defense Logistics Agency personnel from around the country and globe converged on Battle Creek , Michigan, this week to kick off the 2016 edition of Overseas Contingency Operations Readiness Training, or "OCORT."

Brad Sparks, a pest controller at DLA checks a mosquito trap to see if any live specimens have been captured. Each week Sparks collects the samples and sends them to a laboratory to test for the presence of the Zika virus.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime health officials are working with Army entomologists to collect mosquito samples on its installation in Columbus, Ohio, to test for the Zika virus.

Foreign officers' course visits DLA Distribution for lesson on DoD logistics

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On July 6, students in the Navy Supply Corps School’s International Leadership Executive Advanced Development course visited the Department of Defense’s largest distribution center to learn how DoD does global logistics.

DLA now has a fully operational program to detect and counter insider threats.

Teams safeguard employees against insider threats

The Defense Logistics Agency will be the first of 43 Department of Defense components to have a fully operational insider-threat program, achieving this goal well ahead of the Dec. 31 deadline.

Agency wins 5 Value Engineering Awards

Arlington, VIRGINIA — One Defense Logistics Agency employee and four teams were awarded Department of Defense Value Engineering Achievement Awards for fiscal 2015 at a Pentagon ceremony, June 28.

Keep Them Flying

Fort Belvoir, VA — DLA Aviation helps sustain warfighter support and save taxpayer dollars by keeping several dependable veteran aircraft in the air and flying missions.

In order to assess the acceptability of the new torque converter as an alternate item for the present one a fit check was needed to insure compatibility with the Humvee engine and transmission. Sgt. 1st Class Joshua Brown with the Ohio Army National Guard conducts a transportation bracket fit test showing the seated torque converter has the same axial relationship with the transmission flange as the current item.

A Proper Fit

Fort Belvoir, VA — A critical part was in short supply, with few replacements available. DLA Land and Maritime worked to help develop a hybrid part that is quicker to produce and meets all specifications.
