Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 5 joined the DDNV team for the final leg of the mission, providing support for rigging and crane operations and conducting the risk assessment.¬ The team successfully downloaded 49 containers from the ship, filled with equipment and supplies no longer needed by Thule Air Base. The material included three fuel tank trailers, a forklift, a compact wheel loader, tires, expended hazardous materials and scrap metal.

“The variety of material demonstrates the complexity of the offload mission and the extensive expertise required of the joint military and civilian team,” said Matthew Progen, DDNV chief strategy officer.
