NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Navy Rear Adm. Grafton D. Chase, commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution and Navy Capt. Patrick C. Blake, commander of DLA Indo-Pacific, visited DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, Nov. 14.
Navy Cmdr. Ian G. Iliff hosted the senior leaders and opened the visit with an overview of the mission, vision, operation and capabilities of DDYJ. Iliff discussed the main location at Yokosuka as well as detachment locations at Yokohama, Sasebo, Okinawa and Iwakuni. During his presentation, he highlighted the hard work and dedication of Japanese, United States civilian and military employees.
Chase and Blake toured the facilities and warehouses and saw modernization efforts such as the vertical lift modules, which provide compact storage and improved productivity of binnable material. During the visit, they also met with DDYJ’s logistics partners from Commander, Navy Region Japan, Commander Seventh Fleet and Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka.
