RICHMOND, Va. –
Defense Logistics Agency Senior Enlisted Leader Army Command Sgt. Major Tomeka O’Neal traveled to DLA Aviation on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, June 27, to engage with enlisted service members on a variety of topics and share leadership experiences from a military career spanning three decades and multiple conflicts. O’Neal also took the opportunity to thank them for their contributions to not only DLA Aviation, but the agency as a whole.
As the DLA SEL, O’Neal, who is the first female to serve as the DLA senior enlisted leader, is a critical link between the enlisted service men and women and officers enterprisewide. She is also responsible for keeping leadership informed about issues or developments that impact the military enlisted workforce.
“I have a great group of senior enlisted non-commissioned officers in this agency. I owed it to them to spend some time letting them know the impact of what they have been doing since being assigned to this agency,” O’Neal said.
O’Neal also met with DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler and topped off the visit with a tour of DSCR, which included seeing the Bellwood Elk up close and personal.
O’Neal is scheduled to turn over duties as the agency’s senior enlisted leader in August and will officially retire from the Army early next year.
