Responsibility shifts at DLA Distribution Korea

By Matthew Mahoney DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Army Lt. Col. Nathan L. Hadlock relinquished command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Korea to Army Lt. Col. Celina S. Pargo during a ceremony held at Camp Carrol, Korea, on June 21. Army Col. Daniel K. Williams II, Military Deputy Commander, DLA Indo-Pacific Command, presided over the event.

“The workforce at DLA Distribution is a motivated and professional team that I could not be prouder of,” said Hadlock. “Over the past two years we all worked diligently to modernize our operations and increase our support of the warfighter across the peninsula. There is no greater team for Lt. Col. Pargo to inherit than this one.”

During Hadlock’s tenure as commander the workforce would move over 14,000 line items into a newly finished, $65 million warehousing facility. This new facility will reshape the way logistics and supply are handled across the peninsula for both the Republic of Korea and U.S. warfighters.

He would oversee a collection of material valued at more than $68 million, and indispensable to commanders and warfighters as they maintained a forward presence of deterrence against near-peer adversaries and supported multi-national exercises.

The team at DLA Distribution Korea, while under Hadlock’s leadership would conduct more than 288,000 issues and receipts of material, with varying requirements and individual eaches counts.

Hadlock is replaced by Pargo, commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer in 2006 following her graduation from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. She is a graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Logistics Captain’s Career Course, and the Naval War College. She holds a master’s degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.

She has multiple combat deployments to include serving in Iraq as a Battalion S4 for Task Force Counter-Rocket Artillery and Mortar, Maintenance Company Commander of Foxtrot Company, 1-43 ADA in Qatar, and Joint Property Book Officer for Special Operations Joint Task Force – Levant in Iraq.

Pargo has three tours in Korea spread throughout the peninsula to include Company Executive Officer of Foxtrot Company, 1-43 ADA in Suwon AB, Division Logistics Planner in 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Humphreys, Support Operations Officer, and Battalion Executive Officer in 70th Brigade Support Battalion at Camp Casey and Director of Logistics in Special Operations Command – Korea at Camp Humphreys.
