NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
DLA Distribution Teammates,
As we come to the close of another successful year, please accept my sincere gratitude for your dedication and commitment over the 12 months.
Together, we’ve exceeded many goals and celebrated numerous accomplishments. We’ve seen critical change with shifts in key leadership. I had the privilege of assuming command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution this year, and we also saw new leaders take command at DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, DLA Distribution Korea, DLA Distribution San Diego, California, DLA Distribution Europe, DLA Distribution Anniston, Alabama, and DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.
2024 was a productive year for the organization, filled with accomplishments, milestones and growth. Just to name a few, DLA Distribution’s fiscal year 2024 achievements include processing over 13 million wholesale and retail transactions, shipping over 6.7 million orders, exceeding savings targets of $147 million, achieving 98.8% inventory accuracy and exceeding all acquisition goals. You’ve pioneered initiatives and processes to increase our efficiency. Additionally, you successfully deployed WMS to four distribution centers, bringing the total number of sites operating in the WMS environment to 15. Throughout the year, our team ensured agency readiness by participating in seven exercises throughout the world and increasing data acumen throughout the organization. You also responded to hurricane relief efforts through preparation, collaboration and deployment. We’ve taken on new and unique missions that increase DLA Distribution’s support to the warfighter. Most importantly, you’ve embodied the DLA values of respect, trust, service, excellence and innovation.
The upcoming year promises to bring new challenges and opportunities as we continue to operate in a contested logistics environment. As the global security landscape continues to change, we must respond to the call to action within DLA’s new strategy over the next five years.
In this transformative era, we must think, act and operate differently. We need to think clearly about the challenges and complexities of supporting the Warfighter. We must act to generate readiness and resilience. We need to operate with a sense of urgency, with precision to achieve decision advantage.
As we press into 2025, DLA Distribution’s priorities will center on WMS, risk management, modernization, and network optimization. I ask all of you to remain committed to your part in ensuring we increase readiness, improve performance, reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
On behalf of Mr. Knight, thank you for your continued dedication to our mission and best wishes for a joyous holiday season.
Warfighter Always!
