AUAB tests, proves new ACE refueling concept

AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing website — Recently, members of the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, in collaboration with U.S. Air Forces Central, demonstrated the ability to convert commercial grade aircraft fuel into fuel ready-to-use for military aircraft at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron provides a “home” for the Air Force Petroleum Office. The team of three provides quality assurance and control of fuels and gases for the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

AUAB power projection: cryogenics team keeps aircrews breathing easy

379th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing website — At certain altitudes, an aircraft’s environment changes. From oxygen levels to pressure fluctuations, aircrew members need to be able to adapt. Airmen of the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron cryogenics section, ensure service members across U.S. Air Forces Central Command are equipped with tools needed to function.

Fuels lab keeps AUAB combat ready

379th fuel technicians: “We bring fuel to the fight”

Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Air Forces Central Command website — The faint smell of gasoline lingers in the air as fumes seep out of the 2,800 gallon bladders filled with JP8 jet fuel. The bladders are on their way to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia to provide support as a result of a fuel shortage. This delivery is the first of its kind in more than a year and a half.

Air mobility squadron expedites the fight

AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Air Forces Central Command website — “You need it, we move it.” That is the saying of Airmen with the 8th Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron who enable rapid global mobility every day here at one of U.S. Central Command’s busiest en route stations.
