Small businesses are heartbeat of US economy, says DOD leader

RICHMOND, Va. — Recent data from the Defense Logistics Agency shows small business losses in the defense industrial base, there is positive news about the nation’s small businesses. Over the last two years, 10.5 million Americans applied to start small businesses and created 3.5 million jobs, which are record highs, said Farooq Mitha, director of the Defense Department’s Office of Small Business Programs.

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — This week Defense Logistics Agency employees will begin receiving emails from the Office of Personnel Management prompting them to take the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The links are legitimate, and employees are encouraged to take the 91-question survey.
