Director calls for sustained support to nuclear enterprise

The director of the Defense Logistics Agency joined with senior leaders from partner agencies to discuss how DLA can continue to improve its support to the nuclear enterprise, during a DLA Internal Nuclear Enterprise Summit at the McNamara Headquarters Complex March 8.

Marine aviators land at Defense Supply Center Richmond to meet, greet

Richmond, Virginia — Two helicopters from Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina landed at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia to meet and greet Defense Logistics Agency Aviation personnel March 8.

Richmond, Va. — Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation commander, served as the guest speaker for the Army Logistics University, Logistics Pre-command Course March 2 at Fort Lee, Virginia.

New forging dies and organic manufacturing improve aircraft wing spar support

Richmond, Va. — In 2014, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, and the F-15 Eagle System Program Office identified a critical requirement for the F-15 C/D model aircraft wing spars. The spars, a critical structural component within the aircraft’s wing, were showing stress cracks.

Hurry named new DLA Aviation commander

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — The Air Force General Officer Management Office announced March 9 that Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda S. Hurry will replace Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan E. Day as commander of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Richmond, Virginia.

Daylight Saving Time begins March 12 at 2 a.m. DLA Installation Support at Richmond’s Fire and Emergency Services reminds employees to “spring forward” and set clocks forward by one hour. During the mid to late ‘40s, the base publication “Sword and Key” (Feb. 1943 edition presented) would run a separate section in their magazine for their colored personnel revealing that Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, dealt with the same cultural issues of the time.
