HOUSTON, Texas — The Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas at Houston outgoing commander Army Lt. Col. Christian Meisel handed over responsibility of the organization to Army Lt. Col. Josielyn Carrasquillo during a change of command ceremony in Houston, June 29.

DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin presides over DLA Middle East’s change of command ceremony at Naval Support Activity Bahrain June 27. Chapin honored the efforts of outgoing commander, Army Col. Marc Thoreson, and provided encouragement and welcoming words to the new commander, Army Lt. Col. Henry Brown.

DLA’s Acquisition director visits Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Service, along with several procurement analysts from headquarters, visited DLA Distribution on June 12. His main purpose for the site visit was to review DLA Distribution’s contract oversight program, meet with the acquisition workforce, and have a tour of DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania’s Eastern Distribution Center.

DLA helps educate Omani vendors on DoD contracting processes, opportunities

The Defense Logistics Agency joined the U.S. Embassy in Oman, U.S. Central Command and 40 Omani company representatives in the sultanate’s first ever defense-contracting workshop May 14-15 in the capital city of Muscat.

The Fort Polk Garrison Commander and Louisiana Congressional representatives attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for two newly constructed Wastewater Treatment Plants at Fort Polk, Louisiana, May 24. DLA Energy Utility Services provided the contract for the two WWTPs that will treat 6.4 million gallons of wastewater per day. This project will improve Fort Polk’s mission assurance and have a positive environmental impact for more than 50 years.

DLA Energy brings first large-scale hybrid solar, wind renewable project to Fort Hood

FORT HOOD, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other senior officials for the first large-scale renewable energy solar and wind project at Fort Hood, Texas, June 2.

Guy C. Beougher assumes role as DLA Energy deputy commander May 30. Prior to this position, he served as the executive director of Defense Logistics Agency Operations (J3).

DLA Energy Commander visits Baltimore DFSP

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander visited the Defense Fuel Support Point Baltimore and the Vane Brothers Company as part of a familiarization tour of the DLA Energy Americas East supply chain May 22.

DFSP San Pedro trains with LAFD

SAN PEDRO, California — First responder teams practiced confined space rescue training at the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Defense Fuel Support Point San Pedro, California, April 12-14.

Upon contract award, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support Energy project managers will oversee new technologies that will clean the soil and groundwater using electrical resistance heating and steam injection at Defense Fuel Support Point San Pedro.
