Fort Campbell privatizes electrical distribution system

Army’s Fort Campbell in Kentucky got a new owner for its electrical distribution system thanks to a Defense Logistics Agency Energy utilities privatization contract award. Beginning Nov. 10, City Light & Power, Inc. owns, operates and maintains the installation’s system with plans to improve infrastructure, modernize equipment and develop standardized electrical distribution practices.

Oklahoma City DLA Strategic Material pilot program partnership proves successful

Approximately two years ago, DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, located at Tinker Air Force Base, joined forces with DLA Disposition Services to take on a new mission. The mission assisting DLA Strategic Materials in sorting, recovering and reclaiming rare materials critical to national defense and national security for reuse in military applications, and enables the United States to not rely on other countries to replace the materials that have been identified as a shortfall’s within the National Defense Stock Piling Act.

The results of the Defense Logistics Agency 2018 Denison Culture Climate Survey are in, and the findings illustrate noticeable progress. While DLA received its highest ever Enterprise-wide score of 66 with improvements in all 12 indices, DLA Energy-specific results showed an even bigger improvement with an average index score of 83, up 22 points since the last time the survey was conducted in 2016.
