NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Navy Capt. Peter Braendeholm relinquished command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, to Navy Capt. Eric Lockett during a change of command ceremony held June 5 at Naval Station Norfolk.
The change of command also served as a retirement ceremony for Capt. Braendeholm who served 27 years with the U.S. Navy.
Navy Rear Adm. Michael A. York presided over the ceremony, praising the DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, workforce for their tireless and outstanding efforts in overhauling how the agency does business with the implementation of the new Warehouse Management System. Under the leadership of Braendeholm the distribution center was able to provide uninterrupted service to the warfighter at the largest Navy supply point in the world.
Braendeholm expressed his deep thanks to his parents, his wife and their two children during his parting remarks.
Lockett, commander, DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, comes to the agency from the Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee. Originally enlisting in the Navy in June 1991, he was commissioned after earning a degree in Business and Finance. Later, he would go on to earn his MBA in Supply Chain Management from the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey.
Through a variety of sea and shore assignments Lockett’s awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various other decorations. He is Defense Acquisition certified for level three Life Cycle Logistics, certified level three Defense Financial Management and a qualified Defense Joint Service Officer.
