Counterfeit parts prevention and additive manufacturing are among numerous areas that need innovative solutions from commercial industry, Defense Logistics Agency’s research and development chief said during the agency’s first Research and Development Industry Day Sept. 7 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

Conference highlights warfighter support, opportunities for small businesses

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Small businesses play a large role in supporting the warfighter, and that impact was on display Aug. 30 – Sep. 1 at a Defense Logistics Agency conference in Columbus, Ohio.

Busch hosts FEMA deputy chief to kick off National Preparedness Month

To kick off National Preparedness Month, Defense Logistics Agency Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch hosted Joseph Nimmich, deputy administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, at a Sept. 1 event in the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

Americas at San Pedro personnel demonstrate resiliency

LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Arizona — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas at San Pedro, California, employees showed effective distribution management during a supply chain disruption and demonstrated resiliency in the Jet A aviation fuel supply chain at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.

DSCR employee wins gold in 2016 National Veterans’ Wheelchair Games

RICHMOND, VA — Kathy Tilbury brought home four gold medals after competing in the 2016 National Veterans’ Wheelchair Games June 26 – July 2 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She medaled in three swim events, the 100-meter backstroke, 100- and 200-meter freestyle, and Handle Ball bowling.

DLA Distribution initiates mapping operations at Fort Bragg

FORT BRAGG, North Carolina — On August 16, DLA Distribution’s newest operation, DLA Distribution Mapping at Fort Bragg, delivered its first shipment, consisting of four topographic maps for mission planning, to local customers.
