Troop Support Pacific bolsters fresh fruits, vegetables support to Navy

PHILADELPHIA — The USS Theodore Roosevelt received a special delivery Nov. 15 when it stopped at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The aircraft carrier was resupplied with fresh fruits and vegetables through Troop Support Pacific, the first delivery through a new, long-term contract that enables better support to Navy ships.

Culinary Specialist 1st Class John Mobley, from Philadelphia, prepares a turkey for carving for a Thanksgiving meal aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67). Cole is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.

Troop Support serves taste of home to military overseas for Thanksgiving

PHILADELPHIA — Service members around the world will have a taste of home this Thanksgiving, thanks to DLA Troop Support. More than 15,000 pounds of turkey and 1,854 pies have been provided in time for troops in Afghanistan to enjoy their holiday meals.

Subsistence field rep’s passion for produce drives customer support

PHILADELPHIA — Ken Wilmoth has worked with produce since he was a kid helping pull his parents’ produce cart. Now as a Subsistence field representative, he works directly with customers at military bases and schools to ensure they receive quality fresh fruit and vegetables.
