Subsistence nutritionist talks healthy eating with DLA Troop Support workforce

PHILADELPHIA — Starr Seip, a nutritionist with the Subsistence supply chain, spoke to employees about healthy eating March 29. The DLA Troop Suppport Resiliency team hosted the event as part of National Nutrition Month.

Industrial Hardware’s ‘PR Madness’ consumes supply chain

PHILADELPHIA — While many college basketball fans’ brackets were busted early, the PR Madness continues for the Industrial Hardware supply chain at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support. IH’s play on the annual college hoops tournament has grown and evolved with the supply chain’s priorities. But PR Madness, first held in 2015, still stirs employees’ competitive spirits and has been a boost to productivity.

PHILADELPHIA — Forty three DLATroop Support employees learned introductory leadership concepts during a professional development course March 13-15. The aim of the DLA Troop Support Leadership Academy is to provide leadership and supervisory training so mid-level employees are better prepared for future promotions.

Leadership summit informs supervisors on sexual assault prevention and response

PHILADELPHIA — Supervisors assigned to DLA Troop Support gained a better understanding of sexual assault prevention and response, DLA policy regarding sexual assault, and how to respond if faced with a SAPR-related incident during a SAPR leadership summit March 1.

Two students proceed through the lunch line at Sayre School District in Pennsyvania. The school district gets its fresh fruits and vegetables through a partnership between DLA Troop Support and the USDA School Lunch program.

School children, warfighters help each other through DLA food-acquisition partnership

PHILADELPHIA — A partnership between the USDA and DOD is enabling the warfighter and school districts to spend money more efficiently while providing nutritious foods. The USDA DOD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, which is managed by DLA Troop Support, leverages whole-of-government buying power.

Generators provided by DLA Troop Support await airlift by helicopter from Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The generators are part of the ongoing efforts to restore power to the islands devastated by Hurricane Maria
