MEDALS - Military Engineering Data Asset Locator System

The Military Engineering Data Asset Locator System (MEDALS) is a web-based indexing system that provides the ability to locate engineering drawings throughout the Department of Defense (DOD) community. MEDALS serves as the central index for DOD technical data. While MEDALS does not contain digital images of the technical drawings, it does provide the location of the images.

SQL Advanced

This is a 2-day course. Day 1 is spent reviewing functions and clauses of SELECT statements covered in SQL BASIC. Day 2 is spent building queries learned in the BASIC class, and gradually adding more complex functions such as Scalar Functions, SUBQUERIES, TABLE JOINS – (Inner, Left Outer, Right Outer, Full Outer, and Cross), COUNT, UNION, and SUBSTRINGS. Exercises involve continuous query building. Attendees will be given 'customer request' scenarios and expected to build queries, the results of which should meet the needs of those customer requests. Discussion will follow each exercise. In preparation for the class, attendees should have access to the DB2 TEST region and DoD 4100.39-M Volume 12.

SQL Basic

A three-day course that involves learning the basic language to query the FLIS DB2 database. Day 1 is spent learning (via many hand-on exercises) the relationship between the FLIS TIR (NSN), Volume 12, and the DB2 tables. Day 2 involves learning how to build basic SELECT statements and gradually adding several various clauses and query functions in their proper order to affect desired results. It also covers learning how to manipulate query result with continuous exercises. Day 3 is spent focusing on the versatility of the WHERE clause, Comparison Operators, and the CONCAT, BETWEEN, LIKE, IN, NOT IN, and DISTINCT functions. Constant query construction will be expected based on a variety of situational query requests. In preparation for the class, attendees should have access to the DB2 TEST region and DoD 4100.39-M Volume 12.

WEBVLIPS - Web Visual Logistics Information Processing System

Web Visual Logistics Information Processing System (WEBVLIPS) is a web-based transaction tracking system for open transactions and completed transactions up to 60 days after closure. WEBVLIPS enables customers to track their requisitions or excesses through their entire life cycle. Data from all services, agencies, Inventory Control Points (ICP), depots and vendors is included.
